Review:

Valkyrie is a fantastic movie based on a factual assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler's life, Valkyrie was written by Christopher McQuarrie and Nathan Alexander and directed by Bryan Singer. Singer did an amazing job with Valkyrie, Exceeding my expectations from his previous works such as The Usual Suspect, X-men, X-2, and Superman Returns. i find his work with Valkyrie set him on a higher bar with me.

Keeping in mind that this was a Hollywood movie I was sceptical of how accurate this movie would really be and how much they would chance for dramatic effect, so after watching this movie i could not believe some of the events that took place were fact and began researching the true history of Operation Valkyrie and was amazed to find how accurate the movie was, although i am not a huge fan of Tom Cruise i feel he did a fantastic job as Stauffenberg and in my research I found that he looked quit similar to the real Colonel Stauffenberg.

This movie kept me at the edge of my seat, the pace of the movie was great, not leaving any long dragged out scenes and still developing the characters enough to make you feel how intense this must have really been, Valkyrie is set in 1944, well into the war and at a time when Hitler held a very tight grip on the German people, and all though the attempt failed this movie shows a view of Germany during WWII that I have never seen before, a view that not all of Germany was behind Hitler and just how far some people were willing to go to bring him down. I have great admiration for the real Colonel and what he tried to do, he was one of many men to attempt to remove Hitler and although they all failed their strength and courage should not be forgotten.

I give this movie an 9/10
